If It’s Tuesday, It Must Be Free Day at the Art Institute
I’ll readily admit I’m not a world traveler. Yet. Or even a west of I’m-going-to-Kansas-City, Kansas-City-here-I-come traveler. But Chicago in early May is renewing.
The weather was made to order. Girlfriend time with a college cohort equidistant from the dailyness of our lives. Just for the hell of it.
Guided audio tours at the Art Institute. She got her Picasso fix. I, my Van Gogh fix. The risotto was divine. The dessert even better. Twice.
Lazily walking on Michigan Avenue with no particular place to go. Alfresco drinking and the kind of conversation you can only have with someone who’s seen you at 6:30 breakfast back at the dorm thirty years ago.
I’ve got to do this more often. Just for the hell of it.

OMG. I am a Van Gogh junky; it’s sad. Yet another reason you rock, punkin. ;)
